Description:Project overview

The Software Consulting Group (SCG) is an independent advisory firm based in Toronto.

We are migrating our website from Wix to WordPress.com Business and building a reusable template system that will support ongoing publishing without developer dependency for routine content.

This is a fixed-fee foundation build engagement (approximately 4 weeks of specialist work) followed by an optional monthly retainer for ongoing technical support.

Stack constraints (non-negotiable)

- WordPress.com Business plan only

- Kadence theme with native block editor (no Elementor, Divi, or other page builders)

- Rank Math Pro for SEO and schema

- Gravity Forms or Fluent Forms (one only, specialist choice)

- 8-plugin maximum across the site

- All premium plugin licenses owned by SCG, not specialist agency licenses

Scope

- WordPress.com Business setup, configuration, and integrations

- Kadence theme configuration to SCG brand standards

- 10 Synced Patterns (reusable section components for Quick Answer, Data Matrix, Sources and Context, Confidential CTA, and others)

- 7 page templates: Flagship Vendor Hub, Light Vendor Hub, High-Intent Issue Page, Service Page, Trust Page, Intelligence Paper, and Paid Landing Page (the landing page template is an optional add-on)

- Home page within the foundation build

- Wix-to-WordPress.com migration: URL inventory, redirect mapping

- CSV implementation, DNS coordination, preservation of nine years of search history

- Schema configuration via Rank Math (Organization, Person, Service, Article, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList)

- Mobile responsive design and Core Web Vitals optimization

- One sample populated reference page (Oracle Java flagship) built to demonstrate the system

- Documentation package, recorded training session, and 30-day post-launch support

Required experience

- Demonstrated WordPress.com Business builds (not WordPress.org self-hosted). Please share at least 2 to 3 examples

- Kadence theme depth: configuration, global styles, header/footer builder, mobile defaults

- Rank Math Pro schema configuration

- Wix-to-WordPress.com migration with URL preservation and redirect discipline

- Native block editor and Synced Patterns work

- Mobile-first responsive design

Preferred

- North American time zone for migration cutover coordination and post-launch urgent fixes

- Senior advisory or B2B brand sensibility (no popups, no countdown timers, no SaaS gimmickry)

- Comfort with fixed-fee quoting and milestone-based delivery

- Engagement model

Fixed-fee quote for Phase 1 foundation build delivered across four milestones at 25 percent each.

Optional monthly retainer for ongoing technical support and Phase 2 feature builds (estimated 2 to 5 hours per month included, with overflow billed hourly at an agreed rate).

To apply

Email with:

- Two to three examples of WordPress.com Business builds with Kadence

- Brief note on how you would approach the Wix-to-WordPress.com migration, particularly URL preservation, redirect mapping, and DNS cutover safeguards

- Indicative range or fixed-fee quote for Phase 1 scope

- Confirmation of weekly capacity availability across a 4-week build period

- Your time zone

- Full project brief shared with shortlisted candidates.
