If this isn't open-source (especially as an add-on to WordPress on this site) I know for a fact that would be a step in the wrong direction.

Screenshot here of the actual licensing costs for something any one of us could easily build with collaboration (if not by ourselves).

@PHPClasses Team - I have been with you for a long time and focus my energies daily in the advertising business. There are better ways and more profitable ways to advertise without sending a newsletter and ALSO a link with an affiliate link to an advertisement, etc. Your brand IS better than that.

Luckily, this can be easily remedied through use of good native ads, header bidding techniques and others to generate EVEN MORE revenue without interfering with your loyal userbase (myself included).

Feel free to send feedback!

Thanks,
LinuxHombre

This is a sponsored tutorial, not exactly what I would call an advertorial because usually those do not teach anything.

The article category is marked as sponsored for disclosure.

This means that the article teaches how to use this product that happens to be paid. The sponsor paid a fee to write this and other tutorials. The other tutorials were about free products.

In this case there are no affiliate commissions. The links pointing to the product site use an internal tracking system just for statistic purposes.

This blog accepts sponsored tutorials because they are generally useful to developers even when the products are paid. The site only accepts sponsored articles that are relevant to PHP developers.

I hope this and the other articles were useful as tutorials, even if you are not interested in purchasing the product now.

As for your Open Source comment, since it is a WordPress plugin, I suppose you get the source of the plugin even though you pay to obtain it. I think this is in compliance with the GPL license of WordPress, although I am not 100% sure because I am not an expert in law.

Just let me know what you think.

As for other better ways to generate revenue, that is interesting. I tried joining a native ads network but they require like 10 million page views. If you have better ideas, please contact by email info at phpclasses.org .
